History of Prem Mandir Vrindavan

Prem Mandir was established by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj — one of the most revered Vaishnava saints of the 20th century. Construction began in 2001 and the temple was inaugurated on 15 February 2012. The temple was built using Italian white marble and involved over 1000 craftsmen working for 11 years to complete the intricate carvings, sculptures and architectural details that adorn every surface.

The temple depicts scenes from the divine leelas of Radha Krishna and the life of Sita Ram through elaborate sculptural panels that line the outer walls and the gardens. The complex also features life-size tableaux of Krishna's childhood pastimes, Govardhan Leela and scenes from the Ramayana. Prem Mandir has become one of the most visited temples in Vrindavan and India since its inauguration.
