A comprehensive 3-day pilgrimage covering five sacred cities of Braj Bhoomi — Mathura, Vrindavan, Gokul, Barsana and Nandgaon — each uniquely connected to Lord Krishna's life and leelas, with private cab and comfortable hotel stay included.
This unique 3-day tour is specially designed to cover not just the popular Mathura and Vrindavan, but also Gokul — where infant Krishna was raised — Barsana — the birthplace of Radha Rani — and Nandgaon — the village of Krishna's foster father Nanda Maharaj. Together these five cities complete the full sacred map of Lord Krishna's life on earth. Travel in a comfortable private cab with 2 nights hotel stay and expertly routed sightseeing.
Arrive in Mathura and check in to your hotel or dharamshala. After freshening up begin your Braj pilgrimage at the most sacred site in the region — Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi, the believed exact birthplace of Lord Krishna. The temple complex includes the main Katra Keshav Dev shrine and a large prayer hall filled with a deeply devotional morning atmosphere. After Janmabhoomi darshan proceed to the iconic Dwarkadhish Temple, known for its beautifully painted ceilings and vibrant temple aarti. End the morning with a peaceful walk to Vishram Ghat on the holy Yamuna where Krishna is believed to have rested after defeating Kansa.
After lunch, drive to Gokul which is approximately 15 kilometres from Mathura across the Yamuna. Gokul is where infant Krishna was secretly brought by Vasudeva on the night of his birth to protect him from Kansa and where he spent the first few years of his life under the loving care of Nanda Maharaj and Yashoda Maiya. Visit the sacred Thakurani Ghat on the Yamuna bank where Vasudeva is believed to have crossed the river with the infant Krishna. Also visit Nand Bhavan in Gokul — the house where baby Krishna was raised — which is now a well-maintained temple complex carrying a uniquely intimate and warm devotional energy.
Return to Mathura in the evening after completing the Gokul darshan. You may spend the early evening exploring the local Mathura Bazaar near Holi Gate for fresh Mathura peda, religious souvenirs and idol shopping. Enjoy dinner at a local vegetarian restaurant and return to the hotel for overnight rest. This marks the end of a spiritually fulfilling first day covering the birthplace and early childhood sites of Lord Krishna.
After breakfast drive to Vrindavan, approximately 15 kilometres from Mathura. Begin your Vrindavan darshan at the legendary Banke Bihari Temple, one of the most spiritually charged temples in all of India. The unique swinging curtain darshan style here is unlike any other temple experience in Braj. Please note that cameras and mobile phones are not permitted inside Banke Bihari Temple. After Banke Bihari, visit the ancient Radha Raman Temple and the mystical Nidhivan — the sacred forest believed to be the nightly site of Krishna's Raas Leela — whose resident guide shares fascinating legends of this extraordinary place.
After a comfortable vegetarian lunch, visit the grand ISKCON Vrindavan temple, officially known as the Sri Sri Krishna Balaram Mandir. The white marble complex features beautiful deity darshan, energetic aarti and a deeply peaceful atmosphere that draws devotees from across the world. After ISKCON proceed to the magnificent Prem Mandir — a grand white marble temple with intricate carvings of Krishna leelas across every surface. Plan to stay at Prem Mandir until after sunset to witness the spectacular coloured light illumination that transforms the entire complex into one of the most breathtaking sights in all of Vrindavan.
End your Vrindavan day with the evening Yamuna aarti at Keshi Ghat — the most prominent ghat in Vrindavan where oil lamps, chanting and temple bells create a profoundly serene riverside experience. The atmosphere here at dusk is deeply spiritual and is a highlight of the Vrindavan visit for most pilgrims. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight rest after a full and deeply enriching second day across the major temples of Vrindavan.
After breakfast and hotel checkout, drive to Barsana which is approximately 45 kilometres from Mathura. Barsana is traditionally considered the birthplace of Shri Radha Rani and the famous Radha Rani Temple sits atop a prominent hill dominating the town. The climb to the temple involves a flight of steps but the darshan at the top and the panoramic views of the Braj countryside are deeply rewarding. The temple atmosphere is vibrant and devotional especially during morning aarti hours. Allow 60 to 75 minutes for the complete visit including the climb, darshan and return.
After Barsana, drive to the nearby Nandgaon — the village of Nanda Maharaj where Lord Krishna spent his childhood years. Visit the famous Nand Bhavan, the ancestral home of Nanda Maharaj, now a beautifully maintained hilltop temple complex offering panoramic views of the Braj countryside. The temple carries a warm and personal devotional energy quite distinct from the larger temples of Mathura and Vrindavan. After completing the Nandgaon darshan your driver will drop you at Mathura railway station, bus stand or any preferred location. If you have arranged pickup from Delhi the return journey will begin from here, completing your 3 days pilgrimage across all five sacred cities of Braj Bhoomi.
Temple timings may change during festivals, special events and local crowd conditions. Banke Bihari Temple and other popular temples may have temporary route restrictions during rush days. Start early from Delhi for a better experience. Package price may vary based on pickup point, vehicle type, travel date and group size.
