2 Days Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 – Morning

Arrival & Mathura Darshan – Krishna Janmabhoomi & Dwarkadhish Temple

Your 2 Days Mathura Vrindavan Agra Tour begins with a comfortable pickup from your Delhi hotel, railway station or any preferred location in the early morning. Drive to Mathura, approximately 150 kilometres from Delhi, arriving by mid-morning. Begin your Braj darshan at Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi — the believed birthplace of Lord Krishna and the most sacred site in the entire Braj region. The temple complex includes the main Katra Keshav Dev shrine with a deeply devotional morning atmosphere of prayers, bells and incense. After Janmabhoomi, visit the iconic Dwarkadhish Temple known for its beautifully painted ceilings, ornate stone architecture and vibrant morning aarti. Conclude the Mathura circuit with a peaceful walk to Vishram Ghat on the holy Yamuna before driving to Vrindavan.

Day 1 – Afternoon

Vrindavan Darshan – Banke Bihari, ISKCON & Radha Raman Temple

Drive from Mathura to Vrindavan, approximately 15 kilometres away, and check in to your hotel. After a short rest and lunch at a clean local vegetarian restaurant, begin the Vrindavan temple circuit. Start at the legendary Banke Bihari Temple — one of the most spiritually powerful temples in all of Braj with its unique curtain darshan style that moves every devotee who visits. Please note that cameras and mobile phones are strictly not permitted inside Banke Bihari Temple. After Banke Bihari, visit ISKCON Vrindavan for the afternoon aarti — a deeply devotional experience with energetic kirtan and beautiful deity darshan. Also visit the ancient Radha Raman Temple, one of the oldest and most revered temples in Vrindavan with a self-manifested deity and an intimate spiritual atmosphere.

Day 1 – Evening

Prem Mandir Light Show, Nidhivan & Keshi Ghat Aarti

As the sun sets, head to Prem Mandir for the spectacular evening coloured light and fountain show. The white marble temple complex is breathtaking after dark, illuminated in thousands of coloured lights with detailed carvings of Krishna leelas glowing on every surface. After Prem Mandir, visit the mystical Nidhivan — the sacred forest believed to be the nightly site of Krishna's Raas Leela with the Gopis, carrying an extraordinary spiritual atmosphere unlike anywhere else in Braj. Conclude the Vrindavan evening with a peaceful aarti at Keshi Ghat on the holy Yamuna. After the aarti, drive from Vrindavan to Agra, approximately 65 kilometres, and check in to your Agra hotel for the overnight stay.

Day 2 – Morning

Taj Mahal Sunrise Visit – One of the Seven Wonders of the World

Wake up early for the sunrise visit to the Taj Mahal — one of the most iconic monuments in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan as a testament of love for his wife Mumtaz Mahal. The Taj Mahal is best experienced at sunrise when the white marble glows softly in the early morning light and the crowds are at their thinnest, allowing you to explore the monument and its perfectly symmetrical gardens at a comfortable and unhurried pace. Your driver will guide you to the nearest entry gate and advise on monument entry tickets which are payable separately at the ticket counter. Allow 1.5 to 2 hours for a complete and relaxed Taj Mahal visit.

Day 2 – Afternoon

Agra Fort & Local Sightseeing

After the Taj Mahal, drive a short distance to Agra Fort — a magnificent UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the finest examples of Mughal military and palace architecture in all of India. The fort complex includes grand red sandstone and white marble structures such as the Diwan-i-Am, Diwan-i-Khas, Jahangir's Palace and the Musamman Burj — a tower from which Shah Jahan is said to have gazed at the Taj Mahal in his final years. The view of the Taj Mahal from within the fort is one of the most memorable perspectives of the monument available anywhere in Agra. After Agra Fort, explore the local Agra market for a short while if interested, known for its marble inlay handicrafts, leather goods and Agra petha sweets.

Day 2 – Evening

Return Journey & Tour Completion

After completing the Agra sightseeing circuit, your driver will begin the comfortable return journey. You can be dropped at Agra railway station, Mathura Junction or your Delhi hotel depending on your onward travel plans. The drive from Agra to Delhi via the Yamuna Expressway takes approximately 3 to 4 hours depending on traffic conditions. This concludes your 2 Days Mathura Vrindavan Agra Tour — a perfectly balanced itinerary combining the divine spiritual atmosphere of Braj with the world-famous heritage monuments of Agra in one comfortable and well-planned private tour.

Frequently Asked Questions

No, monument entry tickets for the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort are not included in the package price and are payable separately at the ticket counters. Taj Mahal entry fees vary for Indian and foreign nationals. For Indian citizens the fee is nominal, while for foreign tourists it is higher. It is advisable to carry cash or a card for ticket purchase. Your driver will guide you to the correct entry gate and ticket counter on arrival at each monument.

Yes, pickup and drop from Delhi hotels, railway stations and the airport can be arranged as part of this package. The drive from Delhi to Mathura is approximately 150 kilometres and takes around 2.5 to 3 hours. An early morning pickup between 5:00 AM and 6:00 AM is recommended to arrive in Mathura in time for morning temple darshan before driving to Vrindavan in the afternoon and reaching Agra the same evening for the overnight stay.

The overnight hotel stay is arranged in Agra, which allows for an early morning visit to the Taj Mahal at sunrise on Day 2 before the crowds build up. Staying in Agra is the most practical arrangement for this combined itinerary as it positions you perfectly for the Day 2 sightseeing circuit. If you prefer to stay in Vrindavan or Mathura instead, we can adjust the itinerary accordingly, though the Taj Mahal visit would then be in the morning with a drive from Vrindavan to Agra.

Yes, the 2 Days Mathura Vrindavan Agra Tour is well suited for families, couples, devotees and senior citizens. All travel is in a private air conditioned cab with an experienced driver. The itinerary is paced comfortably across both days with sufficient time at each destination. For senior citizens, the Taj Mahal complex requires a moderate amount of walking on marble and sandstone surfaces, so comfortable footwear is recommended. We can adjust the pace, rest breaks and temple visit sequence based on your group's needs at the time of booking.

The best time for this tour is between October and March when the weather across Mathura, Vrindavan and Agra is pleasant and comfortable for both temple darshan and monument sightseeing. The winter months of November to February are especially ideal with cool mornings perfect for the Taj Mahal sunrise visit. Avoid the peak summer months of May and June when temperatures in this region can exceed 45 degrees Celsius. The monsoon months of July and August are spiritually vibrant in Braj but the heat and humidity can make Agra sightseeing less comfortable.

Yes, both Fatehpur Sikri and Govardhan can be added as optional stops to this tour. Fatehpur Sikri is a magnificent abandoned Mughal city approximately 40 kilometres from Agra and can be included after the Agra Fort visit on Day 2. Govardhan Hill and Kusum Sarovar in the Braj region can be added on Day 1 between Mathura and Vrindavan or as a morning stop before driving to Agra. Adding either destination will extend the respective day's itinerary by approximately 2 hours and we can adjust the overall route accordingly.

Yes, the itinerary is fully customizable. If you wish to spend more time in Vrindavan and cover additional temples such as Nidhivan, Seva Kunj, Radha Damodara Temple or the 64 Khamba, we can adjust the Day 1 schedule to allow for a more detailed Vrindavan circuit. The Agra sightseeing on Day 2 can similarly be expanded to include Itmad-ud-Daulah, Mehtab Bagh or Akbar's Tomb at Sikandra. Share your specific interests while enquiring and we will design a personalized itinerary for your group.
