Arrive in Mathura in the morning and check in to your hotel or dharamshala. After freshening up begin your Braj darshan at the most sacred site in the region — Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi, the believed birthplace of Lord Krishna. The temple complex includes the main Katra Keshav Dev shrine and a large prayer hall filled with a deeply devotional atmosphere. After Janmabhoomi, proceed to the iconic Dwarkadhish Temple known for its beautifully painted ceilings and vibrant temple aarti. End the morning session with a peaceful visit to Vishram Ghat on the holy Yamuna river where Krishna is believed to have rested after defeating Kansa.
After lunch, drive to Vrindavan which is approximately 15 kilometres from Mathura. Begin your Vrindavan darshan at the legendary Banke Bihari Temple, one of the most beloved Krishna temples in all of India. The unique curtain darshan style here is a spiritually charged experience unlike any other in Braj. Please note that cameras and mobile phones are not permitted inside Banke Bihari Temple. After Banke Bihari, visit the ancient Radha Raman Temple which houses a self-manifested deity of Lord Krishna and carries an intimate and deeply peaceful devotional atmosphere.
Visit the mystical Nidhivan, the sacred forest in Vrindavan believed to be the nightly site of Krishna's Raas Leela. The forest has a unique spiritual atmosphere and the resident guide shares fascinating legends connected to this extraordinary place. End your first day with the evening Yamuna aarti at Keshi Ghat — the most prominent ghat in Vrindavan where oil lamps, chanting and temple bells create a profoundly serene and spiritually uplifting riverside experience. Return to hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
After breakfast, drive to Govardhan which is approximately 25 kilometres from Mathura. Govardhan Hill is one of the most sacred sites in the entire Braj region, believed to be the hill Lord Krishna lifted on his little finger to protect the people of Braj from Indra's storm. Perform a parikrama around the base of the hill as per your comfort and capacity. Visit Manasi Ganga, the sacred kund at the base of Govardhan associated with Krishna, and the beautiful Radha Kund and Shyam Kund — two of the most sacred water bodies in the entire Braj Bhoomi. These kunds are believed to have immense spiritual significance for Vaishnava devotees.
Visit the magnificent Kusum Sarovar — a stunning stepped reservoir surrounded by ornate cenotaphs and considered one of the most picturesque and historically significant spots in Govardhan. After Kusum Sarovar, drive to Barsana which is approximately 20 kilometres away and is believed to be the birthplace of Radha Rani, the divine consort of Lord Krishna. The famous Radha Rani Temple sits atop a hill in Barsana and commands a beautiful view of the surrounding countryside. The climb to the temple involves steps but the darshan and the atmosphere at the top are deeply rewarding and spiritually fulfilling.
After Barsana, drive to the nearby Nandgaon — the village where Lord Krishna spent his early childhood with his foster parents Nanda Baba and Yashoda Maiya. Visit the famous Nand Bhavan, the ancestral home of Nanda Baba, which is now a well-maintained temple complex on a hilltop offering panoramic views of the Braj region. The temple and surroundings carry a warm and deeply personal devotional energy that is distinct from the larger temples of Mathura and Vrindavan. Return to hotel in the evening for dinner and overnight rest.
On the final day of your Braj Bhoomi tour, begin the morning with a visit to the grand ISKCON Vrindavan temple, officially known as the Sri Sri Krishna Balaram Mandir. The temple features beautifully carved white marble architecture, well-maintained gardens and a deeply devotional aarti. After ISKCON, visit the magnificent Prem Mandir — a grand white marble temple complex with intricate carvings depicting Krishna leelas across every surface. Even in the morning light the artistry here is extraordinary. If your checkout and departure allow, the Prem Mandir evening illumination on Day 2 is highly recommended as an alternative visit time.
After completing all darshans check out from the hotel and complete any remaining local sightseeing or shopping for prasad, idols and Mathura peda in the local markets. Your driver will then drop you comfortably at Mathura railway station, bus stand or any preferred location. If you have arranged pickup from Delhi or Agra the return journey will begin from here.
