Your 2 Days Govardhan Barsana Tour begins with a comfortable pickup from your Delhi hotel, railway station or any preferred location in the early morning. Drive to Govardhan, approximately 160 kilometres from Delhi, arriving by mid-morning. Begin your darshan at Manasi Ganga — the sacred kund at the heart of Govardhan, believed to have been created by Lord Krishna and one of the most important pilgrimage points on the entire Govardhan circuit. Proceed to Mukharvind Temple — the principal temple of Govardhan built at the site where the face of Govardhan Hill is believed to be located — for morning darshan and aarti. Check in to your hotel nearby and freshen up before the afternoon parikrama.
After lunch, proceed for the sacred Govardhan Parikrama — the holy circumambulation of Govardhan Hill which is approximately 21 kilometres in total. Depending on your group's preference, we can cover a shorter parikrama stretch by cab with walking at key sacred spots, or arrange a longer walking parikrama. Key stops on the parikrama route include Radha Kund and Shyam Kund — two of the most spiritually significant kunds in all of Braj, believed to have been created by Radha and Krishna themselves. Conclude the afternoon at the magnificent Kusum Sarovar — a beautifully preserved stepped reservoir surrounded by ornate red sandstone cenotaphs that is one of the most photogenic and peaceful spots in all of Govardhan.
Return to Manasi Ganga or the Mukharvind Temple area for the evening aarti — a deeply devotional experience as the lamps are lit and devotional songs fill the Govardhan atmosphere. The evening aarti at Govardhan has a quiet and intimate spiritual quality that is very different from the larger temple aartis of Mathura and Vrindavan, and deeply moves every devotee who attends. Return to your hotel for a comfortable overnight stay. Dinner can be enjoyed at a clean vegetarian restaurant near the hotel recommended by your driver.
After breakfast, drive from Govardhan to Barsana, approximately 20 kilometres away — the birthplace of Radha Rani and one of the most sacred destinations in all of Braj. The famous Radha Rani Temple, also known as Laddli Ji Temple or Shri Ji Temple, is perched atop Brahmagiri Hill and reached by a flight of steps lined with small shrines and temple stalls. The darshan of Radha Rani here is deeply emotionally significant for every devotee and the panoramic view of the surrounding Braj countryside from the hilltop is beautiful. Allow at least 45 minutes to an hour for the climb, darshan and descent at a comfortable pace.
After Barsana, drive to Nandgaon, approximately 8 kilometres away — the village of Nanda Baba where Lord Krishna spent his childhood after being moved from Gokul. The main temple here is Nand Bhawan, built atop Nandishwar Hill, dedicated to Nanda Baba and the childhood Krishna. The climb to the hilltop temple offers beautiful views of Barsana across the valley — on a clear day you can see the Radha Rani Temple from Nandishwar Hill, making this one of the most scenic spots in the Braj region. Also visit Paan Sarovar nearby — a peaceful sacred kund associated with Krishna and Radha that is one of the lesser-visited but spiritually rich spots in the Nandgaon area.
After completing the Nandgaon darshan, your driver will begin the comfortable return journey. You can be dropped at Mathura railway station, your Delhi hotel or any preferred destination. The drive from Nandgaon or Barsana to Delhi via Mathura takes approximately 3 to 4 hours depending on traffic. This concludes your 2 Days Govardhan Barsana Tour — a deeply peaceful and spiritually fulfilling Braj experience covering the most sacred sites of Govardhan, Barsana and Nandgaon in a single comfortable overnight package.
