Complete the sacred 22 Braj Kos Yatra covering the inner core circuit of Braj Bhoomi with all major temples, sacred kunds and holy sites connected to Lord Krishna's divine leelas. An ideal spiritual pilgrimage for families, devotees and senior citizens with comfortable private cab support.
The 22 Braj Kos Yatra covers the inner sacred circuit of Braj Mandal and is considered one of the most accessible yet deeply meaningful pilgrimages in Braj Bhoomi. This yatra takes you through Mathura, Vrindavan, Govardhan and surrounding holy sites — each location carrying immense spiritual significance in the life of Lord Krishna. Our cab-supported tour makes this yatra comfortable for families, elderly devotees and first-time pilgrims who want a fulfilling and organized Braj darshan experience.
Arrive in Mathura and proceed directly to the most sacred site of the entire Braj Mandal — Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi, the believed exact birthplace of Lord Krishna. The temple complex includes the main Katra Keshav Dev shrine and a large prayer hall filled with the sound of devotional chanting, the fragrance of incense and a deeply spiritual morning energy that moves every sincere devotee. Allow 45 to 60 minutes for a calm and unhurried darshan. After Janmabhoomi proceed to the iconic Dwarkadhish Temple — famous for its beautifully painted ceilings, ornate stone architecture and vibrant morning aarti. The temple is especially alive in the morning hours when the deity is adorned in fresh flowers and the surrounding lanes bustle with devotees and vendors of prasad and puja items.
After the Mathura temple circuit visit the holy Vishram Ghat on the banks of the Yamuna — the sacred spot where Lord Krishna is believed to have rested after slaying Kansa. The ghat is lined with numerous smaller temples and is one of the most peaceful spots in Mathura for quiet reflection by the river. Nearby, visit Gita Mandir where the complete Bhagavad Gita is inscribed on marble pillars and walls — a unique and deeply meaningful temple in the Mathura circuit. After these visits drive to Vrindavan, approximately 15 kilometres away, and check in to your hotel or dharamshala. Freshen up and rest before beginning the Vrindavan darshan in the late afternoon.
Begin your Vrindavan darshan with a visit to the legendary Banke Bihari Temple — one of the most spiritually charged and beloved temples in all of Braj Bhoomi. The unique swinging curtain darshan style here is unlike any other temple experience in India and creates an extraordinarily devotional atmosphere. Please note that cameras and mobile phones are not permitted inside Banke Bihari Temple. After Banke Bihari make your way to the magnificent Prem Mandir and plan to arrive just before sunset to witness the spectacular evening light illumination that transforms the entire white marble complex into one of the most visually stunning and spiritually uplifting sights in Vrindavan. Return to hotel for dinner and overnight rest.
Begin Day 2 with the morning aarti at the grand ISKCON Vrindavan temple — a devotionally rich experience with energetic kirtan, beautifully dressed deities and a large gathering of international and Indian devotees creating a uniquely vibrant spiritual atmosphere. After ISKCON proceed to the ancient Radha Raman Temple which houses a self-manifested deity and carries a deeply intimate and serene energy unlike the larger temples of Vrindavan. Then visit the mystical Nidhivan — the sacred forest believed to be the nightly site of Krishna's Raas Leela with the gopis — whose resident guide shares the extraordinary and fascinating legends associated with this divine forest.
After lunch drive to Govardhan, approximately 25 kilometres from Vrindavan. Govardhan Hill is one of the most sacred sites in the entire Braj Mandal — the hill Lord Krishna lifted on his little finger to shelter the people of Braj from Indra's wrath. Perform the Govardhan darshan and as much of the parikrama as comfortable for your group. Visit Mansi Ganga — the sacred kund at the foot of Govardhan — and then proceed to the deeply revered Radha Kund and Shyam Kund, considered among the most sacred water bodies in all of Braj Bhoomi. Every devotee who takes darshan at Radha Kund is believed to receive the special grace of Shri Radha Rani.
Visit the beautifully restored Kusum Sarovar — the stepped reservoir near Govardhan surrounded by ornate cenotaphs and lush surroundings, considered one of the most picturesque and historically significant spots along the entire 22 Kos Yatra route. The serene atmosphere and ancient architecture make Kusum Sarovar one of the most memorable stops on the entire inner Braj circuit. After Kusum Sarovar return to Vrindavan or Mathura for dinner and overnight rest. The evening can be spent with a peaceful visit to Keshi Ghat on the Yamuna in Vrindavan for the evening aarti if your group desires.
On the final morning visit the historic Govind Dev Ji Temple in Vrindavan — one of the oldest and most architecturally significant temples in Braj, built in 1590 by Raja Man Singh of Amber in red sandstone. The morning darshan at Govind Dev Ji carries a deeply peaceful and ancient energy. After Govind Dev Ji visit Seva Kunj — the sacred garden where Krishna and Radha are believed to rest each night — and any remaining Vrindavan temples your group wishes to include such as Rangji Temple, Madan Mohan Temple or Radha Damodar Temple based on your available time and specific preferences.
Complete the 22 Braj Kos Yatra with a final visit to Keshi Ghat on the Yamuna in Vrindavan for the midday or afternoon aarti. Keshi Ghat is one of the most sacred and atmospheric ghats in all of Vrindavan and is the site where Lord Krishna slew the demon Keshi who appeared in the form of a horse. The Yamuna darshan at Keshi Ghat is a fitting and deeply devotional conclusion to the inner Braj Mandal sacred circuit. After the final aarti your driver will comfortably drop you at Mathura railway station, bus stand or any other preferred location. This completes your 22 Braj Kos Yatra — a fulfilling and organized pilgrimage through the sacred core of Braj Bhoomi.
