The most complete 4-day package combining Agra's iconic Taj Mahal with the entire sacred Braj circuit — Mathura, Vrindavan, Gokul, Nandgaon and Barsana. Follow Lord Krishna's journey from his birthplace in Mathura to his childhood home in Gokul and the divine land of Radha in Barsana.
This 4-day tour is uniquely designed to offer the best of both heritage and pilgrimage in one seamless journey. Begin with Agra's magnificent Taj Mahal and Agra Fort, then drive into the heart of Braj — visiting every sacred spot connected to Lord Krishna's life. Gokul is where baby Krishna grew up under Nand Baba's care. Nandgaon is the village of his foster father Nanda Maharaj. Barsana is the birthplace and home of Radha Rani. Together with Mathura and Vrindavan, this tour covers the complete geography of Krishna's life and leelas.
Arrive in Agra in the early morning for the iconic sunrise visit to the Taj Mahal — the world-famous UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the Seven Wonders of the World. The Taj Mahal is most breathtaking in the soft golden light of early morning when the crowd is thinnest and the atmosphere most serene. Entry tickets must be purchased at the gate separately. Allow 60 to 90 minutes to fully explore the main mausoleum, the reflecting pool, the mosque and the surrounding gardens. Please carry a government-issued photo ID as it is required for entry.
After the Taj Mahal visit proceed to the magnificent Agra Fort — a massive red sandstone Mughal fortress and UNESCO World Heritage Site that served as the main residence of the Mughal emperors. The fort offers stunning views of the Taj Mahal across the Yamuna river from its ramparts and contains several beautifully preserved palaces, mosques and audience halls within its walls. Allow 60 minutes for a comfortable visit. After the fort check in to your hotel in Agra for lunch and a restful afternoon. If time permits a visit to Mehtab Bagh across the Yamuna for a sunset view of the Taj can also be arranged.
After a relaxed afternoon in Agra drive to Mathura which is approximately 55 kilometres away and takes around 1 hour. Check in to your hotel or dharamshala in Mathura or Vrindavan. The evening can be spent with a peaceful walk to Vishram Ghat on the holy Yamuna for the evening aarti if you arrive in time. The riverside aarti at Vishram Ghat is a beautiful and devotionally moving experience with oil lamps, conch shells and temple bells filling the evening air. Return to hotel for dinner and overnight rest to prepare for a full Day 2 of spiritual darshan.
Begin Day 2 with the most important darshan of the entire Braj circuit — Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi, the believed exact birthplace of Lord Krishna in Mathura. The temple complex includes the main Katra Keshav Dev shrine and a large prayer hall with a deeply devotional morning atmosphere. After Janmabhoomi proceed to the iconic Dwarkadhish Temple, famous for its beautifully painted ceilings, ornate stone architecture and vibrant morning aarti. Allow 45 to 60 minutes at each temple for a calm and unhurried darshan experience. A short walk to Vishram Ghat after the temple visits is also recommended.
After lunch drive to Gokul, approximately 15 kilometres from Mathura across the Yamuna. Gokul is where infant Krishna was secretly brought by Vasudeva on the night of his birth and where he spent his earliest years under the loving care of Nanda Maharaj and Yashoda Maiya. Visit Raman Reti — the sacred sandy ground where baby Krishna is believed to have played — which is now a tranquil ashram complex. Visit Thakurani Ghat on the Yamuna bank where Vasudeva is believed to have crossed the flooded river carrying the infant Krishna. Also see Nand Bhavan in Gokul — the house where baby Krishna was raised — a well-maintained temple with a uniquely warm and intimate devotional energy.
After breakfast drive to Vrindavan, approximately 15 kilometres from Mathura. Begin your Vrindavan darshan at the legendary Banke Bihari Temple — one of the most spiritually charged temples in all of India. The unique swinging curtain darshan style here is unlike any other temple experience in Braj. Note that cameras and mobile phones are not permitted inside Banke Bihari Temple. After Banke Bihari visit the ancient Radha Raman Temple and the mystical Nidhivan — the sacred forest believed to be the nightly site of Krishna's Raas Leela — whose resident guide shares the fascinating legends of this extraordinary forest.
After lunch visit the grand ISKCON Vrindavan temple for the afternoon aarti — an energetic and devotionally rich experience with kirtan and beautiful deity darshan. After ISKCON proceed to the magnificent Prem Mandir — a white marble masterpiece with intricate carvings of Krishna leelas. Plan to stay until after sunset to witness the spectacular coloured light illumination that transforms the entire complex into one of the most breathtaking sights in Vrindavan. End the evening with a visit to Keshi Ghat for the Yamuna aarti before returning to hotel for dinner and overnight rest.
After breakfast on the final day drive to Nandgaon, approximately 50 kilometres from Mathura. Nandgaon is the village of Nanda Maharaj — Krishna's foster father — and is home to the famous hilltop Nand Bhavan temple complex offering panoramic views of the Braj countryside. The temple carries a warm and personal devotional energy distinct from the larger temples of Mathura and Vrindavan. After Nandgaon drive to the nearby Barsana — traditionally considered the birthplace of Shri Radha Rani. The famous Ladli Lal Temple, also known as Radha Rani Temple, sits atop a prominent hill. The climb involves steps but the darshan and the views from the top are deeply rewarding. Allow 60 minutes for the complete visit.
After Barsana, an optional visit to Govardhan Hill can be made — the sacred hill Lord Krishna lifted on his little finger to protect the people of Braj. Visit Mansi Ganga, Radha Kund and the beautiful Kusum Sarovar before beginning the return journey. Your driver will then drop you comfortably at Mathura railway station, bus stand or any preferred location. If your return is from Delhi the journey will begin from Mathura. This concludes your 4 Days Agra Mathura Vrindavan Gokul Nandgaon Barsana Tour — a complete and beautifully balanced journey combining world heritage with the most sacred geography of Lord Krishna's life.
Temple timings may change during festivals, special events and local crowd conditions. Banke Bihari Temple and other popular temples may have temporary route restrictions during rush days. Start early from Delhi for a better experience. Package price may vary based on pickup point, vehicle type, travel date and group size.
