Begin your sacred journey from Ayodhya — the birthplace of Lord Ram, travel through the eternal city of Varanasi with Kashi Vishwanath darshan and Ganga Aarti, and complete the pilgrimage in Mathura and Vrindavan with darshan of Lord Krishna's sacred places. Three divine cities, one complete spiritual tour with private cab and hotel stay.
The Ayodhya Varanasi Mathura Tour connects three of India's most spiritually significant cities in a single well-organized journey. Start with Ayodhya for Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, Hanuman Garhi and the peaceful Saryu Ghat aarti. Travel onwards to Varanasi for Kashi Vishwanath darshan, a boat ride on the holy Ganga and the magnificent Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat. Complete the circuit in Mathura and Vrindavan with darshan at Krishna Janmabhoomi, Banke Bihari Temple and Prem Mandir. The entire tour is covered in a private AC cab with comfortable hotel stays at each city.
Arrive in Ayodhya from Delhi or your starting point — the drive from Delhi is approximately 490 kilometres and around 7 to 8 hours. Check in to your hotel and proceed directly to the Ram Janmabhoomi complex for the most significant darshan of the Ayodhya leg. The newly built Ram Mandir stands magnificently at the believed exact birthplace of Lord Ram and the darshan carries an emotional depth and spiritual intensity unlike any other temple in India. Allow 60 to 90 minutes for the complete complex including the main temple, the grand corridor and the surrounding sacred precinct.
After Ram Janmabhoomi visit Kanak Bhavan — the golden palace temple of Ram and Sita — one of the most beloved and richly decorated temples in Ayodhya with a warm and personal devotional energy. After Kanak Bhavan visit the Tulsi Smarak Bhavan dedicated to the great saint-poet Tulsidas who composed the Ramcharitmanas in Ayodhya. Nageshwarnath Temple — believed to have been built by Kush, son of Lord Ram — and Choti Devkali Temple can also be visited based on your available time and the group's preferences.
Visit the famous Hanuman Garhi Temple — the hilltop Hanuman shrine at the heart of Ayodhya believed to protect the entire sacred city. The climb involves steps but the darshan at the top is deeply rewarding. After Hanuman Garhi proceed to Saryu Ghat for the evening aarti on the banks of the holy Saryu River. The riverside ceremony with oil lamps, conch shells, chanting and devotional music creates a profoundly moving spiritual atmosphere on the river that is intimately woven into the life and story of Lord Ram. Return to hotel for dinner and overnight rest.
After an early breakfast begin the drive from Ayodhya to Varanasi — approximately 200 kilometres and around 4 hours. Check in to your hotel and proceed to Kashi Vishwanath Temple — one of the twelve Jyotirlingas and the most sacred Shiva temple in India. The temple sits within the magnificently rebuilt Kashi Vishwanath Dham corridor which has transformed the entire precinct into a grand devotional complex. The darshan carries a powerfully charged spiritual energy distinct from any other temple. After Kashi Vishwanath visit the nearby Kaal Bhairav Temple and Annapurna Temple.
After lunch visit Sarnath, approximately 10 kilometres from Varanasi city — where the Buddha delivered his first sermon after attaining enlightenment. The Dhamek Stupa, the Ashoka Pillar, the Sarnath Museum housing the original Ashoka Lion Capital — India's national emblem — and the ancient Deer Park monastery ruins are all within the compact archaeological site. Allow 60 to 90 minutes for a thorough visit. After Sarnath also visit the Durga Temple — the red-painted mother goddess temple near Assi Ghat — and the Tulsi Manas Temple where the Ramcharitmanas was composed.
The Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat is one of the most visually spectacular and spiritually overwhelming rituals in all of India. Every evening a group of priests perform the elaborate aarti with large fire lamps, conch shells, flowers and devotional chanting in a perfectly choreographed ceremony that draws thousands of devotees to the riverside. The reflection of the fire lamps on the Ganga and the collective energy of the gathered crowd creates an experience that is unlike anything else in India. Arrive at the ghat at least 30 to 45 minutes before the aarti begins to secure a good viewing position.
Begin Day 3 with an early morning boat ride on the holy Ganga — one of the most spiritually and visually extraordinary experiences in all of India. The Varanasi ghats at dawn with the rising sun, morning bathers, sadhus and the distant sounds of temple bells across the ancient riverfront create an atmosphere of timeless sacred beauty that has moved pilgrims and travellers for thousands of years. The boat ride covers the major ghats including Assi Ghat, Harishchandra Ghat, Dashashwamedh Ghat and Manikarnika Ghat — the sacred cremation ghat that has burned continuously for millennia.
After the morning boat ride and breakfast begin the drive from Varanasi to Mathura — approximately 520 kilometres and around 7 to 8 hours. This is the longest intercity drive of the tour and an early departure is recommended. Check in to your hotel in Mathura or Vrindavan on arrival. The evening can be spent with a peaceful walk to Vishram Ghat on the Yamuna for the evening aarti if you arrive in time — the riverside ceremony at Vishram Ghat provides a gentle and devotionally rich introduction to Mathura after the long drive.
Begin the Mathura darshan with Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi — the believed exact birthplace of Lord Krishna. The temple complex carries a profoundly devotional morning atmosphere with chanting, incense and the warmth of hundreds of devotees gathered in prayer. After Janmabhoomi visit the iconic Dwarkadhish Temple with its beautifully painted ceilings, ornate stone architecture and vibrant morning aarti. Allow 45 to 60 minutes at each temple for a calm and unhurried experience. A short walk to Vishram Ghat after the temple visits is also recommended for a quiet moment by the holy Yamuna.
After lunch drive to Vrindavan, approximately 15 kilometres from Mathura. Visit the legendary Banke Bihari Temple — one of the most spiritually charged temples in India with its unique swinging curtain darshan style. Note that cameras and phones are not permitted inside. After Banke Bihari visit the magnificent Prem Mandir after sunset to witness the spectacular coloured light illumination transforming the entire white marble complex. End the evening at Keshi Ghat for the Yamuna aarti before your driver drops you at Mathura station or begins the return journey to Delhi. This completes the Ayodhya Varanasi Mathura Tour.
Temple timings may change during festivals, special events and local crowd conditions. Banke Bihari Temple and other popular temples may have temporary route restrictions during rush days. Start early from Delhi for a better experience. Package price may vary based on pickup point, vehicle type, travel date and group size.
