First Stop

Krishna Janmabhoomi Temple

Begin your spiritual journey at the most sacred site in Mathura — the birthplace of Lord Krishna. The temple complex includes the main Katra Keshav Dev shrine, the prayer hall and the adjoining mosque which together form a historically significant site. The atmosphere here is deeply devotional especially during morning aarti hours. Allow 45 to 60 minutes for a calm and complete darshan of the entire complex.

Dwarkadhish Temple & Vishram Ghat

Proceed to the iconic Dwarkadhish Temple, one of the most visited temples in Mathura, known for its beautifully painted ceilings and ornate architecture. The temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna in his Dwarkadhish form and the morning aarti here is a deeply moving experience. After the temple, take a short walk to Vishram Ghat on the banks of the holy Yamuna where Krishna is believed to have rested after slaying Kansa. The ghat atmosphere is serene and spiritually calming.

Gita Mandir & Birla Temple

Visit the unique Gita Mandir where the complete Bhagavad Gita is inscribed on marble pillars and walls — a remarkable and rare spiritual experience. Take a short walk through the vibrant Mathura Bazaar to explore local sweet shops selling the famous Mathura peda, religious souvenirs, idols, malas and traditional items. This is a great opportunity to pick up prasad or gifts to carry home. The market area near Holi Gate and Vishram Ghat is especially lively and gives you a true taste of the local Mathura experience.
