Experience the most sacred spiritual circuit of North India in one comfortable tour. Visit Mathura and Vrindavan — the land of Lord Krishna, Ayodhya — the birthplace of Lord Ram, and Varanasi — the eternal city of Lord Shiva. A complete devotional journey for families, pilgrims and spiritual seekers.
This Mathura Vrindavan Ayodhya Varanasi Tour is a complete spiritual journey covering four of the most sacred cities of India. Begin your darshan in Mathura and Vrindavan with visits to Krishna Janmabhoomi, Banke Bihari Temple and Prem Mandir. Then travel to Ayodhya for Ram Janmabhoomi, Hanuman Garhi and Saryu Ghat. Conclude the tour with the divine city of Varanasi — visiting Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Ganga Ghats and the famous Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat. All travel is covered in a private AC cab with hotel stays included.
Depart from Delhi in the early morning for Mathura, approximately 145 kilometres away and around 2.5 to 3 hours by road. On arrival check in to your hotel and freshen up before beginning the Mathura darshan. The first and most important stop is Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi — the believed exact birthplace of Lord Krishna. The temple complex carries a profoundly devotional morning atmosphere with chanting, incense and a steady stream of devoted pilgrims. After Janmabhoomi visit the iconic Dwarkadhish Temple, famous for its beautifully painted ceilings, ornate stone architecture and vibrant aarti that fills the temple hall with devotional energy. Allow 45 to 60 minutes at each temple for a calm and unhurried darshan.
After lunch drive to Vrindavan, approximately 15 kilometres from Mathura. Begin your Vrindavan darshan at the legendary Banke Bihari Temple — one of the most spiritually charged temples in all of India with a unique swinging curtain darshan style that is unlike any other temple experience in Braj. Note that cameras and mobile phones are not permitted inside Banke Bihari Temple. After Banke Bihari visit the ancient Radha Raman Temple with its self-manifested deity and serene atmosphere, and the mystical Nidhivan — the sacred forest believed to be the nightly site of Krishna's Raas Leela.
The evening in Vrindavan belongs to two unmissable experiences. First visit the magnificent Prem Mandir after sunset to witness the spectacular coloured light illumination that transforms the entire white marble complex into one of the most breathtaking sights in all of Vrindavan. The Krishna leela tableaux lit up across the complex grounds are especially striking. After Prem Mandir walk to Keshi Ghat for the Yamuna aarti — the riverside ritual with oil lamps and temple bells creating a deeply moving spiritual atmosphere on the banks of the holy river. Return to hotel for dinner and overnight rest.
After an early breakfast begin the drive from Mathura to Ayodhya — approximately 325 kilometres and around 5 to 6 hours by road. Check in to your hotel in Ayodhya and proceed directly to the Ram Janmabhoomi complex for the most significant darshan of the Ayodhya leg. The newly built Ram Mandir is a magnificent structure built at the believed exact birthplace of Lord Ram and the darshan carries an emotion and depth that is unique to this sacred site. The temple complex and surrounding Janmabhoomi precinct deserve at least 60 to 90 minutes for a thorough and unhurried visit.
After Ram Janmabhoomi visit the beautiful Kanak Bhavan — the golden palace temple of Ram and Sita — which is one of the most beloved and richly decorated temples in Ayodhya. After Kanak Bhavan visit the Tulsi Smarak Bhavan built in memory of the great saint-poet Tulsidas who composed the Ramcharitmanas in Ayodhya. Additional temples in the Ayodhya circuit including Nageshwarnath Temple — believed to have been built by Kush, son of Lord Ram — can also be visited based on available time and your group's preferences.
Visit the famous Hanuman Garhi Temple — the hilltop Hanuman shrine at the heart of Ayodhya believed to protect the entire city of Ram. The climb involves steps but the darshan and the views from the top are deeply rewarding. After Hanuman Garhi proceed to Saryu Ghat for the evening aarti on the banks of the holy Saryu River. The Saryu Ghat aarti is a deeply moving riverside ceremony with oil lamps, chanting and devotional music echoing across the sacred river that is intimately connected to the life and story of Lord Ram. Return to hotel for dinner and overnight rest.
After breakfast begin the drive from Ayodhya to Varanasi — approximately 200 kilometres and around 4 hours by road. Check in to your hotel in Varanasi and proceed to the Kashi Vishwanath Temple — one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva and the most sacred Shiva temple in India. The temple sits within the magnificently rebuilt Kashi Vishwanath Dham corridor which has transformed the entire precinct. The darshan at Kashi Vishwanath carries a powerful spiritual energy that is distinct from any other temple in India — plan at least 45 to 60 minutes for the complete visit including the corridor.
After Kashi Vishwanath visit Sarnath, approximately 10 kilometres from Varanasi city centre. Sarnath is where the Buddha delivered his first sermon after attaining enlightenment at Bodh Gaya — making it one of the four most sacred sites in Buddhism. The Dhamek Stupa, the Ashoka Pillar whose lion capital is now India's national emblem, the Sarnath Museum with the original Ashoka Lion Capital, and the ruins of the ancient Deer Park monastery complex are all within the compact Sarnath archaeological site. Allow 60 to 90 minutes for a thorough visit. Return to Varanasi hotel for rest before the evening Ganga Aarti.
Begin the final full day in Varanasi with an early morning boat ride on the holy Ganga — one of the most spiritually and visually extraordinary experiences in all of India. The Varanasi ghats at dawn with the rising sun, the morning bathers, the sadhus and the sounds of temple bells across the riverfront create an atmosphere of timeless sacred beauty. The boat ride covers the major ghats including Assi Ghat, Harishchandra Ghat, Dashashwamedh Ghat and Manikarnika Ghat — the sacred cremation ghat that has burned continuously for thousands of years and represents the Hindu belief in the cycle of life, death and liberation.
The Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat is one of the most visually spectacular and spiritually overwhelming rituals in all of India. Every evening a group of priests perform the elaborate aarti with large fire lamps, conch shells, flowers and devotional chanting in a perfectly choreographed ceremony that draws thousands of devotees and visitors to the ghats. The reflection of the fire lamps in the Ganga and the collective energy of the gathered crowd creates a profoundly moving experience. After the aarti your driver will be ready for the return journey to Delhi overnight or as per your travel plan. This concludes the Mathura Vrindavan Ayodhya Varanasi Tour — a complete and deeply fulfilling spiritual journey through the most sacred cities of North India.
Temple timings may change during festivals, special events and local crowd conditions. Banke Bihari Temple and other popular temples may have temporary route restrictions during rush days. Start early from Delhi for a better experience. Package price may vary based on pickup point, vehicle type, travel date and group size.
